GICLEE PRINTING

We are excited to offer you our specialised  Giclee Printing service.   (pronounced ‘Jee-Klei from the French word meaning “that which is sprayed or squirted”) .  We can create your giclee print from:

Photography – digital files from your iPhone or camera

Art work – from a high resolution, digital file

How can you be sure we are printing a true ‘Giclee” print?   We do the following:

  • We use a high resolution inject printing process from our EPSON 9900 wide format printer.  Here we have the 12 colour inks that through the tiniest nozzles,  spray and squirt the paper to produce the finest copy of your file.
  • We print using a minimum of 300 dpi to ensure the quality of the print.
  • Fine Art quality, archival photographic  papers are the only papers we use:

Hahnemuhle Fine Art Cotton Rag – 308gsm

Hahnemuhle Lustre Fine Art paper

German Etching Fine Art paper giving a watercolour, textured look

Metallic Pearl – A Fine Art paper giving a silky, high gloss metallic finish to your images

Canvas – Epson Satin or Matt finish canvas ready to stretch onto quality, pine stretcher bars.

Jen is a qualified, professional photographer having a Diploma of Freelance Photography and her passion, care and attention to detail are important factors in printing your photographic images.

Our computer screen is aligned, or calibrated, with the printer regularly to ensure correct colour matching.

If want absolute colour matching to art work or a printed photo, you will need to bring the original in so that we can visually colour match it for the best, possible outcome.

How do I send my images for printing?

Please remember, we can only print with what you send us.  Please ensure your images are of the highest quality possible if you are wanting enlargements.

INFORMATION TO HELP YOU GET THE BEST FROM YOUR IMAGES

To ensure the highest quality possible:

You can send your digital files via email or dropbox: files up to 100MB   jen@coastalframinganddesign.com

or bring them into our shop at 5/25 Industry Drive Tweed Heads South,  via a USB or CD.

For serious printing, such as professional files, we prefer TIFF files, as large as possible in their original format.  Please do not make your files smaller, but send them as ‘original’ sizes or larger.  If you photoshop your files, please ensure you flatten them and save as a RGB, high resolution TIFF file.

If you are wanting to enlarge your photo image, we need a minimum JPEG file of 4-8 MB or larger for the purpose of a print and frame package with a  90cm x 60cm print.  This is OK for a print and frame package for your home.  Professional images should all be TIFF format, RGB colour if possible.  PDF files are good for typography or smaller prints.

CREATE NEW ART WORKS FROM YOUR PHOTOS

Allow us to have fun with your images and change the way you think about things.  With our skill, we can create unique art works for your wall by transforming your basic images into masterpieces that will excite you.

We invite you to come on a creative journey to either print perfect, restore old photos or totally expand your images into something you hadn’t considered before.

Photoshop alterations such as converting a colour image to black and white, sepia, cropping, sizing, and altering images are always fun to do.

For the young at heart, we can use photoshop filters to create unique pop art, and playful images from your photos to frame up for your walls.

Photo restoration: This service is available as part of our printing and framing service, only.

We can restore your old, family photos to frame in a custom frame, or a quality, off the shelf frame.

When you discover the old, family photos of years gone by,  we can scan or photograph them, restoring them back to life for the next generation to enjoy.

The team can also talk you through the different options available to print your images.  Preserve them under glass to hang on the wall or print to canvas and wrap them onto quality pine bars.  You may like to add a timber float frame to give your finished, canvas photo art work a more stylish appeal.

Collages:  If you can’t decide on what photos you love the best, you may like to bring in a selection of images to print and frame as a collage of memories:  Travel, family, landscapes, baby photos, wedding, engagement and special events are perfect for this.

20 photos are an optimum amount of photos to bring in for a 60cm x 90cm collage to frame.

Typography:  For something personal and unique,  you may consider adding a  personalised message, location, text, or name to a photo print.  This is a  great gift idea for that special person who has everything!

Consider the image of the horses with the words for a sister.  These can be changed to add your verses, words or poetry or even your favourite affirmation.

Oversize printing: Here at Coastal Framing, we specialise in wide format printing and custom framing oversize,  with large prints able to have the shortest side at 1000mm wide – This is best for your surf images and  landscapes.  We frame oversize images using acrylic rather than glass as this keeps them light weight and shatter free.

Delivery: For your convenience, we can arrange delivery of your oversize framing for an additional cost.   Delivery of oversize frames to a  Casuarina address can be negotiated  as complimentary.

Off the shelf frames: For a quicker and less expensive print and frame option, we offer a quality print and frame package utilising our Australian Made range of off the shelf , ready made frames.

Giclee imaging and printing: As part of our loyalty program, we offer selected GICLEE  imaging and printing to artists who frame with us.  Using specialised lighting in our photo studio, a high resolution photograph of the original art work is taken and from the digital file, a print ‘run’ of prints, or a print and frame package, is created.

This is a specialised, limited service offered by negotiation and becomes part of a print and frame package.
