Canvas Consider the Options

Canvas and Indigenous Art

Canvas presents a variety of ways in which it may be framed depending on both the product and the way in which you want the finished article to look.  Here are some options:

  • Canvas stretched onto a stretcher bar – simplest and least expensive option.
  • Canvas stretched onto a stretcher bar and finished with a designer shadow box frame or ‘float’ frame.  This just adds style and a more formalised finish.
  • Canvas bonded down and framed simply in a designer moulding to suit your decor and art work, with or without glass. Simple but fashionable.
  • Canvas bonded down and treated as a paper art work where you can add mat board designs which creates space around it, then add a moulding of choice and glass.  Designer effect.

To preserve authentic Indigenous canvases, we suggest stretching onto stretcher bars as a basis so that the art work is kept in it’s natural state.  From there you may like to frame it in any way of the above.  We stretch oversize canvas, the largest to date being 2.8m x 1.6m.
